St. Moses’ Mart

A food mart and a mission chapel under one roof — a site that must serve a neighbor who needs groceries today as clearly as a visitor looking for a place to pray.

The calling

What this community needed from its presence online

Some ministries are first of all practical. When the question is “Can I get food this week?”, beauty that gets in the way is not beauty at all.

St. Moses’ Mart carries two callings at once: feeding its neighbors and keeping a chapel where they may pray. The site had to honor both, and bury neither.

What we solved

  1. Practical things first

When it is open, where it is, and what to expect on arrival are the first things on the page — legible on an old phone with a weak signal.

  2. Two callings, one household

The mart and the chapel each have their own clear path, so a neighbor looking for groceries and a visitor looking for prayer both find their way quickly.

  3. Ways to help, without spectacle

Giving and volunteering are easy to find for those who want to serve, and never turn the people being served into a fundraising image.

  4. Dignity in every detail

No charity clichés. The design treats every visitor as a guest — which is exactly what the ministry does at its door.
